- Clarence Ray Widel, 84, of Boonville passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Riverdell Care Center.
Visitation for Clarence will be held at Howard Funeral Home Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Howard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Lamine Cemetery.
Clarence Ray Widel was born March 27, 1938, in Blackwater, Missouri, the son of AR and Kathryn (Boulware) Widel. Clarence married the love of his life Barbara Dietzel June 25, 1959, in California, Missouri. Clarence farmed until 1985 then they moved to Boonville where he began working at MFA Tire and Oil Division until 1999. He then went to work for Helmreich’s Farm Supply hauling grain until he retired. Clarence was a faithful member in his home-based church for many years and a steady example of living for eternity. Clarence always made the best of life, always had a smile, and never complained, he will be dearly missed.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents AR and Kathryn Widel, daughter-in-law Shelia Widel, and brother Raymond Widel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara Widel, sons Jimmy (Tina) Widel of Indianapolis, IN, Dennis (Marcia) Widel of Hope, AR, and Roger Widel of Nelson, MO, daughter Beverly Arth of Boonville, MO, sister-in-law Mildred Widel of Sedalia, MO, and sister Joy Widel of Boonville, MO. He also leaves behind grandchildren Carrie (Jonathan) Webb, Courtney (Adam) Brenneman, Lexie (Daniel) Nering, Kaitlin (Brent) McKerrow, Chloe (Logan) Kent, Amelia, Clayton, and Carter Widel, Brittany and Sierra Arth and 7 great grandchildren with one on the way.
