- ena Bohacek dies at age 94
Mrs. Joseph (Tena) Bohacek, 94, of 505 Grant Street, Tama, died at noon Saturday, September 13, 1975, at Sunny Hill Care Center where she had been a patient for three weeks.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Harland T. Grant, pastor of the United Methodist Church, in charge. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama.
As Tena Chalupsky, daughter of Joseph and Mary Chudly Chalupsky, she was born Oct. 23, 1880, at Luzerne. The family lived on a farm near Luzerne until moving to a farm near Elberon. As a young woman she had worked in several Toledo area home, and on June 2, 1902, was married to Joseph Bohacek of Tama.
Mr. and Mrs. Bohacek had always lived in Tama where he had a flour and feed store and she had assisted him in the business. Mrs. Bohacek was a member of the Royal Neighbors and in earlier years had been very active in the Civic Improvement League.
She is survived by two sons, Edward J., of Monroe, Wis., and Leonard J. Bohacek of Downey, Calif.; two daughters, Alice Bohacek, a former teacher who had made her home with her in Tama, and Mrs. Miles (Edith) Morgan of Pella; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Joseph Chalupsky, 96, of near Vinton, and Amil Chalupsky, 82, 1401 Grant street, Tama.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, and a daughter, Mrs. William (Mildred) Guyer, in 1968; three brothers, George, and William of near Fairfax, and Ed Chalupsky of Elberon, and a sister, Mrs. Ray (Tillie) Fowler of north of Toledo.
