• Notes

  From Dianna Pilkenton Viebrock - Christian Schupp came to America in 1847. He settled in the Cooper County, Missouri region. He donated one acre of land he owned to build the St Paul's German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Germany has 49 Holzhausens and Hesse has 10 Holzhausens so the village of Holzhausen, Kirchhain, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, German had to change its name in 1934 to avoid the confusion.  It was once the estate of the noble family of Rau zu Holzhausen so Holzhausen was renamed as Rauischholzhausen.
