2398 | Forrest Kenney, 88, of Boonville, passed away on November 30 at University Hospital in Columbia following a long illness. Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 4. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, at St. John United Church of Christ, 14191 Billingsville Road, Boonville, MO, with Rev. Jim Elliott and Rev. Arlin Renfrow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Forrest was born to Clarence Teel and Lena Virginia Potter Kenney on August 17, 1927 in Moniteau County near Wooldridge. He married Katherine Gerhardt on January 20, 1952, and she survives. He was a graduate of Boonville High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Forrest worked for Shryack Givens Grocery Company in Boonville for 49 years. He was a faithful member of St. John United Church of Christ, where he served multiple terms on the church council and was Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. He also served as commander of VFW in Boonville and enjoyed woodworking, Cardinals baseball, auctions, crossword puzzles, fishing and coin collecting. His greatest treasure was his family. Survivors include his wife, Katherine, daughters Sharon Kenney Smith (Steve) of Columbia and Barbara Kenney Ayers (Doug) of Danville, KY. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren; Sarah Smith Auer (Kris), Ryan Smith (Katie Payne), Grant Neckermann (Kate), Andrea Smith, Kathleen Ayers and Hannah Ayers, as well as great grandchildren Jacob, Samantha and Elizabeth Auer. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews. 2400 | Fought with his son and the King of Scotland at Flooded Field redeemed the estates of the Fordel, Fife; acquired the landsJames Henderson, First Baron of Fordell. James Henderson was born circa 1450, the son of Robert Henderson, Burgess of Edinburgh, and Jonet (?). He married Elene or Helen Baty, fourth daughter of John Baty, burgess of Edinburgh. His children were Robert (?) (also killed at Flodden Field), Margaret, Agnes, Isabella, George, James and, possibly, Janet. He was killed on 9 September 1513 during the Battle of Flodden Field, Northumberland, England. He received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from The University of Paris in 1484 and held the office of Lord Advocate of Scotland between 1494 and 1507. In 1507 he was appointed to the office of Lord Justice Clerk, which he held until his death. In 1504 he acquired lands at Balbeithy. In 1506 he acquired lands at Stratoun. In 1508 he acquired lands at Carrick.1 In 1511 he, together with his spouse Helen Baty, was granted the Barony of Fordell by King James IV of Scotland, dated April 1511.
