Notes:

CARL HEINRICH METZNER was baptized in Sonnefeld on 1 October 1760 as the son of Heinrich Metzner, the herrschaftl. Kornmeßer [ administrative grain measurer ], and his wife, Anna Margaretha Oberender.  Herr Schmidt did not have the dates and places for Carl’s marriage and death.  But he had Carl and his wife, Eva Margaretha Grosch, still living on 4 May 1823, when their son, Johann Philip Metzner ( 1799 – 1828 ), got married in Sonnefeld.  He was Herr Schmidt’s ancestor and the younger brother of Margaretha Barbara Metzner Stegner.  On 18 September 1799, when Johann Philipp was baptized, his father was the herrschaftlicher Zehntbereiter [ district’s administrative messenger or hostler ] of Hofstädten and his mother was a native of Neuses am Brand.  Philipp died in 1828 but his death record did not have a list of survivors so we don’t know if his parents were still living, as Herr Schmidt had died before he could finish his research.

Margaretha married Stegner, Johann NICOLAUS on 25 Apr 1818 in Klosterkirche, Sonnefeld, Coburg, Bayern, Germany. Johann (son of Stegner, Johann Paul and Truckenbrodt, Margaretha Barbara) was born on 7 Apr 1791 in Frohnlach, Coburg, Bayern, Germany; died in 1862; was buried in 1862. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

The parents of Heinrich Metzner, MATTHÄUS METZNER, the Inwohner [ inhabitant ] of Trübenbach, and MARGARETHE HÄUBLEIN were married in Sonnefeld on 31 January 1713.  Margarethe was the oldest surviving and legitimate daughter of the deceased Nicolaus Häublein.

Heinrich married Oberender, Anna Margaretha on 13 Oct 1754 in Sonnefeld - Hofstädten, Coburg, Bayern, Germany. Anna (daughter of Oberender, Georg and Suffin, Anna) was born on 11 Jan 1725 in Sonnefeld - Hofstädten, Coburg, Bayern, Germany; died on 17 May 1805. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
