Obit: Presley Beuford McCreery, 72, Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Boonville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Meisenheimer Funeral Chapel, Pilot Grove, with Rev. Todd Laughlin officiating; burial in Pilot Grove Cemetery. Mr. Thornton was born September 17, 1924, in Pilot Grove, MO, son of Ezra Murl and Pauline Thornton McCreery. On May 6, 1943, he was married to Marjorie Tally, who survives of the home. Mr. McCreery worked for the Katy Railroad in Pilot Grove and moved to Kansas City, working for the Missouri Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1984. He worked for the railroad for 39 years. He was a member of the Boonville Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. survivors include 3 daughters, Charlotte Goyer & Kathy Bousman, both of Lenexa, KS, & Carol Hulse, Shawnee, KS; 3 sons, Richard McCreey, Merriam, KS, Robert McCreery, Overland Park, KS, & Ray McCreery, Shawnee, KS; sister, Merline Sharp, Liberty. MO; brother, Robert McCreery, Excelsior Springs, MO; his mother, Pauline McCreery, Excelsior Springs, MO; 8 grandchildren & 4 great- grandchildren.
