  Thomas KEMP, Gentleman of the parish of Wye, Ashford Borough, Kent County, England married Beatrix, daughter of Sir Thomas LEWKNOR. The family seat was at Olanteigh (Ollantigh) located in the northwestern extremity of the parish of Wye, near Ashford. The KEMP estate had been in the family since the days of Edward I. Thomas and Beatrix KEMPE were the parents of the Archbishop John KEMPE (1380-1454) of York and Canterbury, a cardinal and chancellor. John was the second son of the couple. His elder brother, Thomas KEMPE, was the father of Thomas KEMP, bishop of London.
