A manuscript genealogy of the founders of Horsham priory, Norfolk names “tres filias...Margaretam, Clementiam et Saram” as the children of “Willielmum de Caineto”, son of “domino Roberto filio Walteri fundatori domus sanctæ Fidis de Horsham”, adding that “Margareta” married firstly “cuidam Normanno Hugoni de Crescy”, by whom she had “filium...Rogerum” who married “Isabellam de Ry” and had “quatuor filios...Hugonem, Rogerum, Johannem et Stephanum” all of whom died childless, and secondly “Roberto filio Rogeri”[1415].

The Testa de Nevill includes a list of landholdings in the honour of Boulogne, dated to [1217/18], which includes "uxor que fuit Roberti filii Rogeri" holding "vii milites…in Torpwidon et Andeg et Massingham et Anemere et Freinges et Wikinham vi milites quos Hugo filius Roberti tenet"[1416].

Daughter of Piers FitzHerbert of Blaen Llyfni, Breconshire, Wales and Alice FitzRobert, daughter of Robert FitzRoger of Warkworth, Northumbria. They were married before 24 Jan 1234 and had six sons and two daughters.

Their son Robert Robert de Ros of Helmsley, Yorkshire, born before 1237, was the grandson of Sir Robert de Ros, one of the twenty-five barons who guaranteed the observance of Magna Carta, and Isabel of Scotland, an illegitimate daughter of William the Lion, King of the Scots, by a daughter of Robert Avenel.
Robert was the son of Sir William de Ros (died c.1264/5) and Lucy FitzPeter, the daughter of Peter FitzHerbert and Alice FitzRoger. He had five brothers, Sir Peter, Sir William, Sir Alexander, Sir Herbert, and John, and two sisters, Lucy and Alice.
