Notes - Emil Rosburg Kouba has place of birth as Vinning, Tama County, Iowa.
She had two brothers, Charles and John. Charles, a year or so older than Emma, drowned as a teenager in the Iowa River while on a picnic: per data in Ted F. Kouba pocket daybook held by E. Kouba. "Melsha family was from the village of Telice near Praha (now Prague) in Bohemia, Austria Hungary now Czechoslovakia. It split in 1993 and the area is now called the Czech Republic. Emma and Frank lived on the Kouba homestead 4 miles southwest of Blairstown until 1917 when they moved to a farm just 1 mile South of Blairstown. At her death she was also survived by two half sisters, Mrs.
Barbara Wilder of Portland, OR and Mrs. Mary Slaby of Cedar Rapids, IA. (from obituary clipping held by E. Kouba.)
