Notes - In 1884, while in the 10th grade, he received the Klipper fellowship. He studied at the gymnasium in Hildburghausen. From 1882-1884 he also studied at the Universities in Berlin and Strassburg. In the fall of 1885 he was an ex pro candidate for the ministry; while in Jul 1887 in Meiningen he was an ex pro candidate for the ministry. In Hildburghausen he taught theology at the gymnasium. He was also the chaplain for the 95th Infantry Battalion of Thüringen Infantry located in Hildburghausen.
