- Newspapers: Boonville Daily News: Obituary, Of Harold Frank Lang - 17 Apr 1993.
Our beautiful mother and grandmother, Mary Karleen Lang, completed her journey and went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at age 86. Karleen was born November 22, 1932 in Blackwater, Mo to John and Edna Meyer. She was the third of four children, and the only daughter. She met her first husband, Harold Lang, as a teenager. They were married on October 12, 1950, in Missouri. After their first three children were born, Harold, Karleen, and family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. They had seven more children, and Karleen enjoyed being a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, a cheerleader at all of her children's sporting events, and was an excellent homemaker, even in a pop-up camper during their many family camping trips. Raising their children in the Catholic faith was very important to Harold and Karleen. The family attended Mass regularly and Harold and Karleen provided an example of being dedicated parishioners. Along with raising her own children, Karleen had a home day-care for over 20 years. They also opened their home to family, friends, and anyone in need. They became grandparents for the first time in 1971 and rejoiced in the birth of each of their 23 grandchildren. After retirement, Harold and Karleen built a home in Peeples Valley where they enjoyed many happy years together. Karleen's beloved husband and companion, Harold, passed away in 1993. In 1996, Karleen married Harold Glasgow. They enjoyed their summer home in Oregon and their winter home in California and spent much of their time traveling and ballroom dancing. They took great care of each other. In 2013 they moved back to Phoenix and lived in Palos Verdes Retirement Community. Harold passed away in 2014, leaving Karleen a widow for the second time. She was never without the companionship and love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who had the blessing of accompanying her in her final moments here on earth.
She is welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Harold F. Lang (43 years), her second husband, Harold C. Glasgow (18 years), grandchild, Keith Jackson and great-grandchild, MaKenna Frey. She will be remembered fondly by her 10 loving children and their spouses: Donna (Dennis) Paprocki; Hal (Mary) Lang; Dean (Kaye) Lang; Peggy Lang Butler; Diane (Brian) Connors; Scott (Dianna) Lang; Kelly (Cheryl) Lang; Laurie (Floyd) Lonkard; Lisa (Ken) Eldridge and Brian Lang, as well as 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale from 2-3 p.m. with a Rosary at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Karleen on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Drive, Sun City. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Karleen's life.
