Notes - The family of John George Neef settled on a farm about 3 miles west of Boonville. The farm was originally bought by J. G. Neef and John H. Boller together. Later divided, but the Neef’s and Bollers lived many years as the closest of neighbors.
Later John P. Neef followed the barbers trade; but eventually founded what was once known as Harlingen’s Book Store in the year of 1865. He married Caroline Fuchs, also from Germany. They had no children and Mr. John Neef died 05 Aug 1957.
Jacob H. Neef remained on the family farm.
