• Notes

  In the summer of 1901 John went to California to find work. First on a grain ranch and then later in 1901 he went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company where he worked for 45 years until he retired at the age of 65. It wasn't long until he saved enough money to send for his wife and new son. Carroll County Quarterly has marriage date as 06 Mar 1900
