  A Fifteen Year Old Lad Has Limb Torn From Body. One of the most Heart rending accidents it has been the province of the Advertiser to chronicle for many months occurred Saturday morning at the Boonville Brick Company's plant near the M.K.&T. Depot. Ferdinand, the little 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stretz, while working at the brick yard, was amusing himself by shoving the mud into the mixer by putting his foot on it and pushing it down into the revolving shaft. While engaged at this the leg of his overalls caught in the fangs of the revolving wheel and in an instant his leg was drawn into the hopper. The foot was taken off and all the skin and flesh was stripped from the leg to his hip, necessitating an immediate amputation of the hip joint. He rallied after the amputation and for a day he appeared to be doing all right. Sunday night, however, he began to grow worse and at 9 o'clock Monday morning he passed away. The funeral took place Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock from the Catholic church. Interment in the Catholic cemetery. (s/o J Henry Stretz & Mittie Edwards)
